My Recovering the Muse series has its origins in work that was once started or considered finished within the past 20 years. Much like life, the older layers, although no longer visible as they once were, have provided the evolutionary direction for what is here now. Incorporating collage, venetian plaster, gauze, grout, encaustic wax, colored pencil and oils, this body of work celebrates my past within the present. I made these in 2022 and 2023 as I was preparing to retire from teaching.
