As I peel apart the stacks of steamy, wet sheets of these eco prints, I’m intrigued by the chemistry and the unpredictable exchange between living and nonliving things. I love discovering what the leaves leave behind, knowing that I can neither guarantee, nor fully control the outcome.

The leaves used in this series come from the ginkgo trees along Haddon Avenue in Collingswood, NJ where I live. Each original print is made by boiling layers of leaves and paper in vinegar and rust water. This series reflects the sisterhood of science and art and how layers of life impact one another.

The prints are mounted to a ¾ inch cradled board and sealed with a UV protective, acrylic gel.
