This unique and earthy series features hand crafted stones made from white earthenware clay that are either glazed on the backs or set in sterling silver bezels. I do the soldering with a butane torch. After firing the stones in the kiln, layers of venetian plaster are applied to the front and burnished and scribed to create additional markings. They are hand painted with oils to achieve an antiqued and weathered look before they are sealed with a satin varnish. Pendants that are set in silver hang from an 18″ 2mm black rubber cord with a sterling silver clasp. Pendants not set in silver, vary in size, and hang from a blackened sterling silver jump ring on an 18″ antique bronze ball chain with a magnetic closure. Earrings hang from handmade, sterling silver ear wires. Each stone varies in size, shape and length, and are all one of a kind. Click into the gallery to see the dimensions of each stone.
