All of my work, whether it’s wearable or wall hung art, addresses the nuance of time.  I am drawn to create layered surfaces, make marks, and use materials that show the impact of relationship histories, choices and progressions. I like the cause and effect that small moments can have on the bigger thing.

I recently retired from 33 wonderful years as a high school art teacher, with a focus on ceramics and metals. As an artist, it’s not surprising that I work with those same materials. A long career that existed within a rigid, clock and calendar based system has made me acutely aware of time and how the structure of it seems to change during the creative process. Time still moves, but it’s measured in moments, more than minutes.  I like that.

I live and work in Collingswood, New Jersey with my husband, Michael Scotko.

I’m glad you’re here!
