This series began in 2024 in response to the state of our nation. I was exploring ideas of power, inequality and trying to make sense of the social and economic issues facing our world today. Pouring concrete on stuff has a calming effect on me.

I began a second wave of work leading up to the 2025 election cycle, that I call “Implemented”. These pieces incorporate tools originally designed to cut, grab, pinch, constrict, control, manipulate and screw. They symbolize mechanisms of power and serve as a commentary on the unchecked authoritarianism dismantling our social structure. They are made with vintage tools, concrete, venetian plaster, metallic paints, chemical patinas and gold leaf. I have a very large collection of vintage tools and a whole lot of anger still ready to pour into this series.
