All of my work, whether it’s wearable or wall hung art, addresses the passing of time and evolves through a process where I work and wait for the surface to emerge. I pay attention to my previous additions and subtractions of layers, textures, marks and color. Each action inspires a reaction, and I respond to what shows up until I intuitively know when to stop. It’s fun to get lost in the process and then be surprised by it in the end.
I recently retired from 33 wonderful years teaching high school ceramics and metals. In addition to an accomplished teaching career, I started selling jewelry in 2005 and have exhibited on and off at various outdoor shows and local galleries over the years. I live and work in Collingswood, New Jersey with my husband, Michael. He’s an artist too, as well as my photographer, web designer and all around great guy.
For now, my current creative focus is artisan jewelry made from clay, concrete and other materials, and mixed media paintings. The links across the top will take you through some of my series. My complete resume is linked below.
