Tapped Installation

Tapped – a message from a bottle       June 6, 2012
Inspired by the school-wide art theme, “Art is Elemental” the RMS students saved water bottle caps for this year’s installation.  Students were encouraged to think about our society’s obsession with bottled water.  This is very timely, considering that ounce for ounce, we pay more for bottled water than we do for gasoline, and we are drinking LOTS of it.  We used over 385 empty bottles to create the flowers.  Which means that at $1.25 (what students pay for a bottle of water at lunch) there is almost $500 worth of plastic stuck to the wall.  That’s pretty crazy.

Nine middle school students were randomly selected to participate in setting up the installation. Learn more about it by clicking here.
